November 26th, 2010. LEGU participates in a Prince2 introduction workshop in Amsterdam to improve working processes.

November 22nd, 2010. Mathias Lehner lectures on the current status of Dutch architecture at the Haarlemmermeerlanden Rotary club.

November 19th, 2010. Mathias Lehner is final speaker at the Erasmus Descartes conference ‘Architects and social change’ organized by the Institut Neerlandais in Paris. Download the interview.

November 16th, 2010. Mathias Lehner gives a presentation on Network AC at the AAO conference ‘Design in Action’ in Chicago.

November 14th, 2010. Mathias Lehner visits the house of Edith Farnsworth in Plano, Illinois, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

October 2010. Mathias Lehner participates in a multidisciplinary excursion to Marrakech en Casablanca resulting in an essay on public space in both the Netherlands and Morocco.

October 2010. The cultural centre in the former town hall of Hoofddorp (“What a cute little theatre”) was used as set for the TV show ‘Benelux next top model’. Download more screenshots. See the entire show.

October 2010. LEGU presents its final design for the top of Big Spotters Hill, which is received enthusiastically (also, because it fits into the very limited budget).

September 2010. Within a study trip of Dutch, German and French architects LEGU pays a visit to the Venice Architecture Biennale 2010.

September 2010. Realization of LEGU’s design for the public space of Spilstraat in Alkmaar is almost finished. Upon a neighbourhood initiative a party is held on September 25th.

September 2010. LEGU pays a visit to the new museum of art for the 21st century Maxxi by Zaha Hadid in Rome.

August 2010. Word of mouth results in the commission of LEGU by a private family to refurbish their apartment in Amsterdam.

August 2010. While studying Renaissance architecture with an international group of young architects LEGU stays in Scamozzi’s Villa Pisani.

July 2010. Mainport and Green Foundation commission LEGU to design the top of Big Spotters Hill, an artificial pyramid next to Schiphol.

July 2010. The Association of the 440 Dutch Communities (VNG) publishes LEGU’s design for a tower on the shore of the Westeinder lakes in Rijsenhout in their special publication ‘In action with citizens’. Download the article as pdf file.

June 2010. Conducting research for a design project LEGU visits the Centre for International Light art in Unna (Germany).

June 2010. Mathias Lehner is commissioned by Kay Munk College (Marcel van Kerkvoorde) to contribute content to an educational game for IPods about the Fortress of Amsterdam.

May 2010. LEGU participates in the workshop for architects about the future use of the current industrial site builder Dura Vermeer in Cruquius. The design proposes a combination of housing and working spaces and is conceived together with Coen Krabbendam.

 

May 2010. Commissioned by Hageveld College Heemstede LEGU develops a walking tour for the Amsterdam Zuidas area, suitable for students of secondary education.

April 2010. LEGU publishes a brochure with work by the studens of the Academy of Architecture Amsterdam online. Download the brochure here.

April 2010: SUN publishers present a new book about urban transformations featuring LEGU’s DesignBus.

March 2010: The DesignBus is used on Amsterdam’s Oudekerksplein as part of the design project at the Academy of Architecture. The event is covered by the media, e.g. by the NVTL.

March 2010: Johanna Gunther lectures about the work of LEGU at the University of Applied Science in Amsterdam.

March 2010: Mathias Lehner participates in the symposium ‘FutureScapes’ in the Victoria &Albert Museum in London and visits the office of David Chipperfield.

February 2010. Start of teaching at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam with the newly developed design project P2a ‘Human Being’.

January 2010. Study trip to Newcastle upon Tyne with as goal research into branding regions in periphery locations.

January 2010. LEGU participates in the symposium about creative cities organized by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung in Cologne.

December 2009. The exhibition ‘Vinix Vinex Vinext’ designed by Garbo Illusies en LEGU and featuring housing projects by forty Dutch architectural offices is officially opened at a national symposium in Claus Party Centrum.

December 2009. Edited by Johanna Gunther the book ‘Architectuur Bedrijven Enterprising Architecture’ on Business park Nieuw-Vennep Zuid is officially presented to the press. The first issue published by Jap Sam Books is handed to Eelco Brinkman, chairman of the Dutch building branch.

December 2009. lehner en gunther architecten works on the conception of Architectural educational material for pupils of higher education about the Defense Line of Amsterdam, an UNESCO monument.
